Lead-based Paint Information and Things to Remember to Avoid Costly Repairs
Please note that all houses built prior to 1978 may contain lead-based paint. Lead exposure is especially harmful to pregnant women and children. Owners must disclose the presence of lead based paint hazards in a dwelling.
Four important routine maintenance checks:
1. Test all smoke alarms at least twice a year and make sure all batteries are intact.
2. Air filters are clean and replaced routinely; once a month is recommended for rentals.
3. Gutters are clear of debris.
4. Report any signs of water leaks as soon as noticed.
